Can't find the Wi-Fi Hotspot on an iPhone? Make sure you've entered the Personal Hotspot APN

If you don't see the Wi-Fi sharing feature on your iOS device, or if it shows up or hides depending on a SIM-card you've inserted, it must be because of the Modem APN mising.

To fix, go to:

  • UK english: Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network
  • U.S. english: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network

Then scroll down to Personal Hotspot and enter your carrier's Access Point Name (APN) value into the input. If you don't know what your APN is, try entering just "internet" and see if it works.
